Position Summary

The Sponsorship Sales Manager actively develops and executes cash sponsorship and equipment trade agreements; creates and maintains good client relationships; and works with Marketing to build new strategic partnerships.

Essential Functions

  • Manage portfolio of existing customers and accounts.
  • Solicit new business.
  • Ensure that revenue goals are achieved and equipment needs are met.
  • Solicit non-cash donations (goods, services, equipment, etc.) for IAC events.
  • Arrange trade agreements for IAC needs.
  • Assist in development of department materials.
  • Develop custom proposals and present to prospective customers.
  • Work with Exhibitor Services Team to deliver timely and satisfactory results.
  • Ensure fulfillment of all promised assets and benefits for entire department.
  • Work closely with IAC departments to develop strategies to maximize revenue potential and customer satisfaction.
  • Identify trends and develop goals to capitalize on new business opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned and provide additional staff assistance as necessary as directed by the Marketing Manager or CEO.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must have an Associates degree, Bachelors degree preferred; 5 years of relevant experience can be substituted for education
  • Position requires excellent face-to-face, written and telephone communication skills; excellent planning and organization skills, and attention to detail
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrated success in winning new business
  • Strong ability to work independently without direct supervision
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple departments
  • Ability to quickly grasp customers’ needs and propose solutions
  • Willing to travel
  • Strong project management skills with ability to multi-task and set priorities within tight timelines and high client expectation
  • Willingness to perform tasks above and beyond job description, as needed
  • Agri-business background preferred
  • Superior customer service and problem solving skills
  • Ability to learn and utilize other Web Based and Proprietary database programs
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of event sales experience
  • Must demonstrate ability to be flexible and patient
  • Willingness to learn and apply new skills

Environmental Conditions

  • Indoors in typical office environment with little exposure to heat and cold approximately 75% of the time
  • Outdoors with exposure to heat and cold approximately 25% of the time
  • Occasionally work evenings and weekends based on event needs
  • Frequently works with challenging clients
  • Frequently manages shifting priorities, attends events (including lunches, dinners, concerts, etc. at no cost to the employee)
  • Frequently required to drive UTV on the event grounds
  • May perform other event related duties as needed
  • Physical requirements include bending and lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Good attendance and punctuality are essential
  • Mobility within the office
  •  Ability to walk, sit, climb stairs and  stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to serve as event security periodically
  • Ability to walk on uneven terrain


  • Pay is based on experience.
  • Health benefits the first of the month following 60 days of continuous employment. Vision/Dental benefits the first of the month following 90 days of continuous employment.
  • 401K option is available after one year of continuous employment. Enrollment will occur during open enrollment in December or June.
