Position Summary

The Facility Rental Manager actively sells and develops business relationships for International Agri-Center (IAC) venues for ag business and private events; creates and maintains good client relationships; and oversees and manages the Facility Rental staff and all events booked by the department.

Essential Functions

  • Lead Facility Rental team of Sales & Event Coordinators and Event Hosts.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for the entire rental process of the facility, insuring successful events for the Client and the IAC.
  • Manage the scheduling of security, event hosts and catering as necessary.
  • Works with the Facility Maintenance Manager for scheduling of set up and clean up staff for events.
  • Insure high quality customer service to prospective, current and past clients.
  • Generate calendars, schedules and reports  for staff, volunteers and Board members as necessary.
  • Train event staff on customer service, software programs and new programs.
  • Work with IAC marketing team to increase use of the IAC facilities and create community and industry awareness of our event services through advertising, social media, events, etc.
  • Serve as a member of IAC management team.
  • Oversee and manage the scheduling of meetings and events during World Ag Expo throughout the grounds.
  • Represents IAC at tradeshows shows as appropriate.
  • Develop ag business and equestrian events and relationships that lead to increased revenue and higher profile partnerships.
  • Identify trends and develop department goals to capitalize on new business opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned and provide additional staff assistance as necessary as directed by the CEO.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must have an Associates degree, Bachelors degree preferred; 5 years of relevant experience can be substituted for education
  • Position requires excellent face-to-face, written and telephone communication skills; excellent planning and organization skills, and attention to detail
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to learn and utilize other Web Based and Proprietary database programs
  • Must be able to effectively work in groups
  • Must have proven experience managing and leading a team
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of event sales experience
  • Must demonstrate the ablity to be flexible and patient
  • Willingness to learn and apply new skills
  • Superior customer service and problem solving skills 


Environmental Conditions

  • Indoors in typical office environment with little exposure to heat and cold approximately 75% of the time
  • Outdoors with exposure to heat and cold approximately 25% of the time
  • Occassionally work evenings and weekends based on event needs
  • Frequently works with challenging clients
  • Frequently manages shifting priorities, attends events (including lunches, dinners, concerts, etc. at no cost to the employee)
  • Frequently required to drive UTV on the event grounds
  • May perform other event related duties as needed 
  • Physical requirements include bending and lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Good attendance and punctuality are essential
  • Mobility within the office
  • Ability to walk, sit, climb stairs and  stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to serve as event security periodically
  • Ability to walk on uneven terrain 


Compensation:

  • Pay is based on experience.
  • Health benefits the first of the month following 60 days of continuous employment. Vision/Dental benefits the first of the month following 90 days of continuous employment.
  • 401K option is available after one year of continuous employment. Enrollment will occur during open enrollment in December or June.
